Vince is a fox blacksmith in the visual novel GameOver. A bit shy and work focused, the red-furred homebody clearly has a thing for you, but doesn't know how to articulate it himself. His shop is a hotspot of other activity thanks to all of the work orders that come in from across the town. This leaves him little time to explore his relationship with you and you both frequently see your interactions being infiltrated by the master blacksmith Vandeel. He has one Bad End to discover.

Background

Taught by his father from a young age the tools of the blacksmith trade, Vince hopes to one day be able to pass on such knowledge to his own children. Though he wonders if that will ever happen, since there aren't many women in the town, though he is willing to adopt a child at some point as well.

Questlines

Getting To Know A Fox

First encountering Vince at the Blacksmith shop, he informs you that he only does requested orders in the evening. You inform him that you're just looking around and he says he's glad there's still people visiting despite the fighting going on in the northern forest. And he's glad that it hasn't affected the cave he mines from in the west. He questions your arrival through said forest and considers why you didn't see any of the fighting or monsters. His speculation is that, since you arrived before the fog rolled in, maybe you avoided the curse of illusion. Bringing up this speculation with Azlos will intrigue the item shop owner and he decides to do some tests with producing the fog and seeing what effect that has. Letting Vince know about this will surprise him and make him happy that his thoughts helped contribute.

If you ask Vince if you can help out, he agrees and will even pay you 10 coins per session. He largely just has you move things around to better facilitate his blacksmithing work, including stoking the flames and replacing the cold water. Getting distracted the next time you help out, Vince explains that helping out in the front of the store taking orders and getting requests organized might be more useful in the long run, but you'll need to get him to trust you more before that would be an option. Take care of your health while helping out though or Vince might have to help you out himself for the long term. This outcome requires you to have the inflation trait and having the mpreg trait will result in differences in outcome.

An Interfering Dwarf Appears

After you've met Vandeel, Vince will apologize for his personal fantasies about being with you being blurted out like that by someone else. For some reason, he remembers the two of you doing such things together, as if it were a dream, and you feel the same way. He hopes that you'll keep coming to help out with the shop. Your next work period helping run more ore back and forth to the forge has Vandeel criticizing your speed and being a weak adventurer. Vince dislikes that the dwarf calls you a "lackie" and wonders about his background, as his accent seems to incorporate different areas of the country in a nonsensical combination. While you can only do a little, Vince still thanks you for doing the cleaning and others things that would otherwise take up their time. Vandeel gets you back to work and says you can be intimate later, flustering Vince, and the dwarf also says he'd be open to spending some private time with you as well.

You're doing inventory next, because Vince is apparently extremely bad at it and frequently runs out of supplies while blacksmithing. The fox reminisces about the person who used to run the general store and his friend, who used the do the inventory for him. It seems Vince has been breaking his tools more frequently by gripping them too hard, which surprised you since you know he's a gentle giant when handling things. You're confused about how you know that about him though. While working on enchanting a pair of axes, Vandeel is confronted by a pig mercenary who is frustrated the upgrade is taking so long. Vince suggests that he has the free time to finish them. After you've worked with Vince and Vandeel almost a half dozen times, the dwarf begins teasing the both of you about how much happier Vince has been lately, likely due to the two of you fooling around. Vince storms off and you confusedly wonder about when that happened, because you haven't, but you also feel like you have.

A Bird Walks In

After you've become close with Vic and experienced Vince's game over, the gym owner will bring up your closeness with the blacksmith and the new things he's learning from Vandeel, mentioning he has something that needs to be imbued with magic for gym members to use. In order to pay for them, Vandeel is requiring Vic to work the front of the blacksmith store so the two blacksmiths can focus on finishing orders. When you work next, Vince goes to help Vic at the front and Vandeel suggests that he should start training you how to be an actual blacksmith apprentice. The bird will have some commentary on both blacksmiths' capabilities and the type of work they focus on when next you help out. Which Vince will agree with when you bring it up to him and comment on the things he still wants to study to be as instinctually skillful as Vandeel.

So long as you've tried to take advantage of Vic at the gym instead of training with him and having him tease you back, he'll comment on how distracting you are at the blacksmith shop because of how you flaunt your backside at him. Vic will continue to tease you and make sexual suggestions again and you wonder if you can have an "accident" to finally push him over the edge. The following time you talk with Vince, he'll bring up these memories he has with you that never happened, though it feels almost like they happened to someone else or another version of himself. You wonder more about what's going on and why you have these memories too.

Once you observed Vandeel's strange growing problem and spoken with him about it, you can also ask Vince about it and he'll give you the hint about the gym possibly being related. You can run into Vince while working at Rutherfurd's shop and have an awkward encounter where he talks about how much he enjoys being around you. He'll mention later how surprised he is that Rutherfurd let you work there, as the only other person who was ever allowed to left not too long ago with her knight husband to live at the castle. After you've become a member of the guard and helped out Kubas with his investigations, Vandeel will suggest working out with you at the gym to train you up. You can ask Vince about it and he'll say that the dwarf never accepted working out with him and isn't sure why he's willing to do so with you, though you have your own suspicions.

A Chef In The Making

If you've spoken with Vandeel about his growing problem and have any form of meal in your inventory made from Reynard's cooking system, Vandeel will let you know that the kitchen is done being constructed at the blacksmith's. Vince explains that they enlarged the small food prep area so real meals can be cooked now, having gotten a bit jealous from you sharing meals with Reynard. He's like to go hunting and cook with you in particular, also pointing out that a farm and ranch are being built in the town so they can locally source their foodstuffs. The brother of Brand, the previous shop owner, will be arriving to take ownership of that. To hunt and cook with Vince, you require the musk kink and they can only be done once per day in alternating events. Before you head off with Vince, Vandeel will take you aside and suggest you use the opportunity to try and get a little friskier with the fox and push him out of his comfort zone. Your first hunt will have you encounter a cockatrice, which Vince handily grapples to its demise, and you help by collecting the desired meats. You also get the opportunity to feel up Vince's arm, which he enjoys. He also informs you that Harold will be installing magical freezers and other conveniences only found as the capitol for people in the town.

Commenting on the unexpected size of the cockatrice, Vince asks how you learned your butchering technique and you obliquely say your travels. You next go berry hunting, which is definitely not one of Vince's strong suits and you have to explain to him which berries are ripe for picking or not. He gets nervous about being close to you though and runs off, with Vandeel telling you to keep at it. Vince complains after on how snackable the berries are, as he's definitely not going to be losing weight with how much he eats. To continue on with the cooking of the ingredients you've collected, you must have made Banana Pork Pottater Stew with Reynard previously. Vandeel encourages you to make the moves on Vince, commenting on how he doesn't know how the fox packs away his massive package into his clothes, which distracts you during the cooking by looking at inappropriate areas. You end up falling against him in your distraction, making you more distracted, and you both barely manage to finish the meal without ruining it. He did enjoy cooking with you though.

Slow Relationship Goals

The next hunting adventure has you both be ambushed by a boar that Vince notices in time and takes out. You do notice that the boar doesn't look normal, but mutated in some way, perhaps from the demonic energies in the forest. Vince accepts your praise of his prowess with a blush. While butchering the boar, Vince says that it's nice to be doing this stuff with you and mentions a mine to the west he collects ore from. He's surprised as just how many wild animals there are in the nearby forest and has you congratulate him on his fighting ability, mentioning he was an adventurer in his younger days. He offers to teach you how to wrestle in the future. Vandeel points out that Vince has been more active and engaged lately since you started cooking with him and hopes he asks you to sleep over soon. Collecting peppers this time round, you both hold hands on the way back. He appreciates the quiet time you both get together.

The second cooking event requires having made Pottater Chicken With Banana Dipping Sauce before. You work together to make the dish, particularly since Vince doesn't have experience with breading foods, and he really enjoys the end result. Giving you a hug at your success, you comment on how comfy he is. The crunchiness of the chicken really met his taste, and Vandeel's it seems. Your foraging takes you to the open fields instead of the forest this time to collect potatoes and Vince spends the time having you lean against him and hold his hand. He finds it strange how the potatoes are shaped though and sees why Vandeel like them so much. Gathering some fruit has Vince eating way too much, admitting to his sweet tooth. You both take a break, with you leaning back against him, and Vince comments on how familiar all this feels. While continuing to eat way too many bananas, Vince admits to Vandeel teaching him about how to be a good top, explaining that he is exclusively one, and that he feels comfortable telling you such personal details for some reason.

Your final cooking encounter requires having made Spicy Berry Pork Skewers before. Vandeel gets impatient with how long the grilling is taking and while you and Vince are finishing up, the fox explains that the blacksmith shop needs some inventory sorting done. He invites you to do some heavy lifting of items with him, which you accept. Vandeel lets you know that Vince told him about his plan to invite you to bed, meaning the fox is finally going to try something soon. Also, Vince isn't so good with the spicy foods.
