---|---|
Foraging is an activity in the visual novel GameOver that allows the player to obtain ingredients to give to the chef Reynard to make new recipes. The dishes made from these recipes can be used to go on dates with various characters. After unlocking the quest to find foraged ingredients from Reynard,[1] you'll next have to find an adventurer to come with you for protection. If you've met them already, you can ask Azkim, Boris, and Crux to accompany you, with different ingredients being available depending on whom you go with. You'll then need to go confirm with Reynard that you've found protection and he'll give you a guide to the local fauna and flora before sending you on your way.[2] Each foraging trip will cost you 10 coins.
Ingredients
When gathering ingredients, whom you go with and what you search will determine the ingredient that you find.
Azkim | * Check The Trees (Striped Banana) * Check The Bushes (Heart Berry) |
Boris | * Gather Some White Meat (Chicken Thigh) * Gather Some Red Meat (Meat Slabs) |
Crux | * Check The Stalks (Peter Pepper) * Check The Plants (Pottater) |
Recipes
Once an ingredient has been obtained, they can individually be given to Reynard and once the right combination of ingredients has been given to him, he'll ask for time to think of a recipe. The initial ingredients will only allow him to think up and test a recipe, however. So you'll need to recollect the ingredients to have a plate of it made for your personal use. Best to collect two of each right off! Also, each preparation will cost you a nominal fee of 5 coins. Reynard can't be handing food out for free, after all.
You can, of course, eat the food once made, restoring varying amounts of health and stamina. But the main purpose of the dishes is to use them on dates with other characters.
