Nel is a otter secretary for Mayor of the town, Sep, in the visual novel GameOver. This job frequently sees him running around town delivering packages and messages to the other inhabitants. He has one Bad End to discover.

Personality

A vivacious, bubbly ott, Nel is immediately a friend to presumably all he meets, especially those he admires in some way. He also has a tendency to go overboard on his hero worshipping, speaking over others in conversations, and then ending them just as abruptly. He also gets embarrassed about this and about most other things when engaged with directly on his activities. In fact, in order to rein in these impulses, he made a deal with Varok to have some mental manipulation done on himself so he wouldn't get so carried away and put himself at risk of revealing critical information to those who shouldn't know it. Since, as the Mayor's secretary, he is privy to a number of secrets that need to be kept hidden.

Questlines

Opening Up The Ott

First encountered in the Town Center, the enthusiastic otter will seem to recognize you immediately, to your confusion. He identifies you as the newly arrived stranger from the northern forest path and asks if the rumors are true about you fighting any number of wild beasts and demonic fiends. He'd even heard about there being a Cerberus and a dragon living around the town in years past. He thinks you're being modest in saying you saw none of that and considers you to be a hero. He next questions you on your thoughts about him and whether he counts as cool enough to hang around the great hero. He thinks he needs to do something impressive to really showcase that, but you tell him he's fine as he is. Instead, he thinks up some humbler things to expand his boundaries, such as eating something he's never tried before, offering to then invite you over to try it sometime.

If you have the vore kink available, Nel asks you about it, indicating he can do the same, though specifically only with his extravagantly large pouch. He suggests that if you get to know each other better, that maybe you could play around with both your capabilities sometime. Then, if you have the musk kink, the otter will out of the blue mention that he forgot he needed to get shampoo today. When questioned, he explains that he buys an extra strength shampoo from Azlos' shop because otherwise his large assets end up having a powerful scent. He also inadvertently mentions that he doesn't use it when he's at home for the night because he likes the smell. His questions if you have the inflation kink also entail whether you think it's weird that while his assets have the ability to produce so much, he doesn't otherwise have the ability to take as much in other ways. You let him know that he cares too much about other people's opinions.

Be careful that you don't arrive at the Town Center with maxed out lust, however, or Nel will be forced to take you to his home to help you. And you'll ultimately decide that there's no need to ever leave his bedroom. At this point, Nel will have nothing else to say to you, not being outgoing enough to accept hanging out with you. In order to open him up more, you'll have to find another avenue. The convoluted steps to do so include starting delivery work for Azlos and then getting the alchemist's advice to speak to Varok. Upon asking the guard for his thoughts on how to make Nel less shy, he'll explain that the secretary took the demon's own mark in the past upon Mayor Sep's suggestion so no one else would be able to mentally influence the otter and harm the town. He doesn't see a problem in using the mark to make Nel more open to being with you however, since you also carry his mark by this point.

Playing Around With The Ott

Excited to see you next you meet, Nel asks if you want to spend some time with him and is surprised when you agree to be his friend. He says he'll be happy to do anything with you whenever he's not busy running errands for the Mayor. After you've experienced a permanent living situation with the otter, he'll ask you if you feel like there's some sort of connection between you both. He wonders if it's fate and that he's meant to be your Squire, while you wonder why this feeling has happened with both Azlos and Nel. Following along on his trip to the Barracks to give a delivery to Ran, you'll notice afterward that being in your presence for an extended period seems to have aroused the small ott, something you can take advantage of to his embarrassment. You can choose to help him out, with an additional option being available if the inflation kink is unlocked. Upon encountering him again after he's run off, he'll feel incredibly guilty for what happened and says he'll make it up to you by returning the favor sometime, since he's the one that should be helping out the hero. He suggests you come to his place sometime so he can cook for you and help in other ways too.

Your next hangout involves Nel running around the town to make an excessive number of deliveries, before having to stop and rest. In order to continue spending time with the ott, you must have the musk kink unlocked, whereupon you take off your shirt to cool off. You immediately garner Nel's attention and can decide which of you will help the other cool down. So long as you did choose to cool each other down, Nel will be highly embarrassed about having done that in public and you'll question him on whether he secretly enjoys that part of it. He admits to that being the case when he's with you, but he'd still rather do future things in private and he enjoys knowing more about your interests. A more subdued delivery session has Nel tired out anyways from the weight of his assets and desiring a rest. If you have the vore kink unlocked, you can carry him inside you to lighten his load or you can mess around with him to lighten his load another way. So long as you've done the former option, Nel will blushingly agree that he enjoyed what you did together and is interested in doing perhaps even more daring things in the future.

Healing The Ott

After running into Nel at Oscar's healing office when doing a delivery for Azlos, you'll have another later delivery to make to Oscar. He'll inform you that Nel has begun working more consistently at the office because of the large amount of paperwork needed for all the patients. Your first meeting with Nel the receptionist will showcase a much more calm and professional ott than you're used to. Though that also doesn't last long and he can't help but complain about the large brutish people that have been so rude to him and Oscar. There's just been so many adventurers showing up in town and signing up for healing. He suggests you fill out the paperwork too, since Oscar can conduct physicals and other examinations. And free healing scrolls as well, courtesy of Azlos petitioning the Baroness. Also, Nel already filled out your paperwork for you, but you can't for the life of you remember how Nel would know all this personal info about yourself.

Trying to talk with Nel afterwards has him rush you into your physical examination instead. You can finally have a normal conversation with him afterwards, where he muses on how to spruce up the office with more decorations. He wonders about hiring a painter and you question on who made the images on the posters he's been distributing advertising the Healer's Office. They were his own work, but he wants something more experienced done and plans to put out an ad, while still drawing out what he wants anyways. After completing your examination, Nel will be sad about how he had hyped you up as the hero when your true power was still dormant inside of you. But he fully believes you'll be able to exhibit this power soon and be the strongest adventurer out there.

Once you've completed additional examinations with Oscar and possibly gotten a bit handsy with him, the ott will wonder why the doctor has been wanting you to come back to do further physicals. He explains how Oscar has been doing alchemy since he got to town, which shouldn't be needed for healing, leading Nel to want to do some more research on the subject. Trying to hangout with the small ott will have him rebuff you initially, but then consider it more on repetition. So long as you still have the vore kink, you can crawl under his desk and into his voluminous containers for a time. He tells you he enjoys your time together, though wishes you could do more, but he has work to do and can't leave his desk. He apologizes for keeping you inside of him for so long and he admits to having to take something to prevent you permanently becoming a part of his body. He was caught by Garius and Reynard though in the process of going to your room to expel you and had to make up an excuse that you had asked him to deliver what he makes to your room when you're out of town.

The Ott And Company

Encountering the centaurs and making the acquaintance of Bruax will eventually get to Nel's ears and he asks if you can help his centaur friend. Apparently he helped one of them with their needs one night and the centaur has been making nightly visits to him ever since. But that's made things more difficult while working at the office, since he doesn't want Oscar to find out. You wonder how Nel has managed to not be affected by the centaur's pheromones and also how such a being managed to sneak through the town without detection, even if it was at night. After you've spoken with Oscar about slimes and their possible uses, Nel will show how excited he is about taking care of them and you'll learn that young, but not old, slimes can talk, which peaks your interest.

Meeting Boruk will enable you to ask Nel about the other patient that the orc saved from the forest. He'll tell you how the newcomer has a minor case of amnesia and is recovering. He suddenly thinks of asking Oscar for permission to have you go out and about with the newcomer to help him recover faster. Having had fun with Boruk over by the Healer's Office and having spoken to the orc about it, Nel will comment on how surprised he is that you know Boruk, as he's frequently outside in the forest fighting, though remembers he's been ordered to stay in town for now. The ott explains that they're trying to reduce his buildup of corruption and he also wonders if you were cold while sitting on the orc's lap because you were shaking a lot. Once you've had children with Oscar, Nel will congratulate you and explain that he's helping care for the eggs.

Similarly, once you've had children with Bjorn, Nel will comment on being glad your mating season together is over, since you were having kids for several days there and he found it sad you were stuck there, though did enjoy helping out as needed. For some reason, Bjorn has been claiming you both have been doing this for years and that can't be right, right? The ott also suggests, if you're willing, that he might be able to spend some time having children with you too during your mating season. He apparently took notes on what you like from Bjorn. Once the Order of Knights arrive in town, Nel will take a moment to gush over how majestic they look. After your trial and meeting with Immor, Nel will be worried about your recovery, but there's unfortunately no rooms available. He's willing to give up his own bed, but upon questioning, he explains that something bad has happened in the northern forest and many injured people have been coming in. So much so that they have an ad out for a new assistant healer.
