Geve is the canine town guard for the East Gate in the visual novel GameOver. Somewhat hyperactive and always friendly, his personality doesn't quite match his stoic demeanor when seen from afar. He is quite happy to make a friend and just wants to spend time with you, whatever that entails. He has one Bad End to discover.
Background
Originally from a village of similar dog people before he came to the town to become a guard, his tribe were very into using scent to communicate friend from foe.[1]
Questlines
You first meet the cheerful and radiantly happy guard with the serious resting face at the East Gate. Geve discusses how bored he is guarding the gate, as people rarely come around, and he much prefers patrolling the town center and the markets.[2] He informs you that a lot of people are talking about your arrival and the arrival of the "one nice guy" who wished him well, but has gone missing since he showed up after you, but via the East Gate. The unknown guy seems to smell more like the guards, specifically the canine ones, while you smell "interesting" and different from everyone else in town. Geve laments that most of the dog guards that used to be at the town are gone now, though he's not quite sure why.[1]
To get closer to him, you must have opened up the capability to deal with musk, which will allow Geve to suggest that, since Captain Ran told him to not socialize with others while working, you can both hide in the supply closet and sniff each other. And maybe some licking.[3] He is a bit confused after, however, on why he likes your smell so much, as if he's being made to like it. Wondering if you do magic or have a spirit attached to you, he regardless is interested in continuing your secret time together.[4] So much so that he just openly propositions you the next time you speak to him, saying he hadn't mentioned it before because Ran told him to not be so immediately forward or he would scare people away.[5] You also confirm that the both of you are friends, exciting Geve and having him want to hang out with you more when he's off-duty.[6]
While not able to go all the way because other people show up, you're nevertheless able to have some fun with Geve the next time you both sneak off.[7] He absolutely had fun with you after, but also just wants to explore being best friends together.[8] Though be careful you don't become too lustful or you might end up becoming Geve's permanent roommate, with some dialogue and scene differences if you have the mpreg trait unlocked.[9] Once you've experienced this alternative life, the next talk with Geve will have him suddenly kiss you, remarking that he felt like kissing you the way mates like his parents did. He's interested in becoming so in the future and maybe having some pups.[10]
